Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov visited the republican unitary enterprise Ustye of the NAS of Belarus on July 28, 2023, where improvised zazhinki (celebration of the beginning of harvest) of the current harvest took place. This is a traditional holiday of the first sheaf, which is associated with the official start of the harvesting campaign. The inspection of the fields was carried out, the readiness of machinery, seed plant and storage facilities for harvesting and receiving a new crop was assessed.

The meeting of the Chairman of the Presidium with the machine operators, on whose shoulders the main burden fell during the performance of harvesting, was held especially festive. Full readiness for harvesting was noted, all organizational issues were resolved.

The total area of farmland of all agricultural organizations of the NAS of Belarus is 46,411 hectares, of which 36,721 hectares are arable land. In 2023, about 13,000 hectares are allocated for cereals and legumes. The harvesting area of spring and winter rapeseed is more than 5000 hectares.

The weather conditions of the current year (the precipitation absence for more than 60 days) did not prevent the village workers from growing a good harvest.

This year, it is planned to collect about 45 thousand tons of grain seeds and 12 thousand rapeseed seeds in agricultural organizations of the NAS of Belarus.

As of July 27, 2023, 9% of the area has been harvested. The average grain yield is 35.1 quintals per hectare, winter rapeseed – 20 quintals per hectare. The largest amount of feed was harvested in the republican unitary enterprise Ustye of the NAS of Belarus and the Agricultural enterprise Shipyany-ASK – 11.2 and 9.5 quintals of fodder units of herbaceous feed per 1 conditional head, respectively.
