On August 15 – the Day of the Archaeologist – the scientists of the Institute of History of the NAS of Belarus will hold their professional holiday at the archaeological complex on the Mienka River in the village of Garadzishcha, Minsk district and invite everyone who is interested in history and archaeology to join. Beginning at 10.00 (village of Garadzishcha, Minsk district).

- direct participation in the archaeological excavations of a Large site of ancient town under the guidance of the Institute of History’s staff;

- master classes from experienced archaeologists on cleaning the cultural layer;

- lecture by the scientific director of the excavations Andrey Voitekhovich:

- the latest artifacts exhibition;

- performance of the Volat Historical Reconstruction Club;

- field seminar on the archaeological heritage of Belarus and historical and cultural tourism (dedicated to the Day of the Archaeologist);

- round table Integration of the Archaeological Heritage of Belarus into the Tourism Sector

The event will be attended by archaeologists of the Institute of History of the NAS of Belarus; volunteer students of Minsk; scientists, members of the United Branch Trade Union Organization of Employees of the NAS of Belarus; heads (representatives) of tourism organizations, employees of the Department of Tourism of the Ministry of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus, the National Tourism Agency, tour guides, guide-interpreters, teachers of tourism disciplines.
