On August 15, 2023, a Tomsk region’s delegation of the Russian Federation headed by Governor Vladimir Mazur visited the NAS of Belarus. The guests got acquainted with the latest achievements of the scientific organizations of the NAS of Belarus at the permanent exhibition Achievements of National Science for Production.

During the meeting with the leadership of the NAS of Belarus, topical issues of the development of scientific and technical cooperation between scientific organizations of the NAS of Belarus and the Tomsk region, as well as mechanisms for their implementation were discussed. As the First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Sergey Chizhik noted, the Academy of Sciences and the Tomsk region have many points for cooperation. The academician named the directions that Belarus is ready to offer to the Tomsk region. In particular, this is the agricultural sphere, new genetic opportunities, the potential of animal husbandry, new plant varieties, developments in the field of microelectronics, photonics, microwave engineering, technologies for deep processing of peat, water treatment, equipment and technologies for medicine, etc. "We are preparing joint programs with the Tomsk region, where the Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics and Institute of Physics of NAS will play the main role. In general, we have many points for cooperation. And we will develop them, share our experience," the First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus stressed.

During the visit, on August 16, 2023, members of the Tomsk region delegation visited a number of scientific institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
