On August 28, 2023, the V.M. Ignatovsky Badge of Distinction of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus was awarded to corresponding member of the NAS of Belarus, Director of the United Institute of Mechanical Engineering (2002-2006) Leonid Krasnevsky. The scientist was awarded a high award for his personal contribution to the development of academic science and in connection with the 85th anniversary of his birth. Leonid Grigorievich is a well-known scientist in the field of mechanical engineering, theory and technology of automatic control of mobile cars, creation of hybrid cars. He investigated the possibility of using hybrid power plants in heavy mobile equipment manufactured by the Belarusian machine building industry, which has hydromechanical transmissions. He showed the prospects of creating hybrid electromechanical transmissions on this basis, which are becoming the leading direction in the global development of hybrid power plants. The hero of the day is the author of more than 250 scientific papers, including 1 monograph, 89 copyright certificates for inventions and patents.

The V.M. Ignatovsky Badge of Distinction was presented to Leonid Krasnevsky by the First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Academician Sergey Chizhik.
