Knowledge Day held in the NAS of Belarus

On September 1, 2023, a festive occasion dedicated to the Knowledge Day was held in the building of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The event was attended by the heads of the NAS of Belarus, members of the Bureau of the Presidium of the NAS, heads of scientific organizations of the Academy of Sciences, famous scientists of the country, master's degree students of the University of the NAS of Belarus, their relatives and friends.

Speaking at the celebrations, Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov noted that talented young researchers at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus always find support in their endeavors. "The NAS of Belarus is the largest scientific center of our country, where research is carried out in a wide range of areas. This is a research and production corporation, where about 15 thousand people work. Every year, scientific organizations of the NAS of Belarus accept up to 300 graduates. Today, the Academy of Sciences has created all the necessary conditions for successful scientific activity," Vladimir Gusakov said. Speaking about the principles of the Academy's leadership in the training of young scientists, Vladimir Gusakov stressed that talented young researchers always find support in their endeavors. "I want to urge you not to waste time and actively engage in scientific research. And I wish that you do not change your choice – the Academy of Sciences," he added.

At the celebrations dedicated to the Knowledge Day, master's degree students of the University of the NAS of Belarus were presented with a symbolic record book with the inscription "Forward to new scientific discoveries!". The first classes of master's degree students were held in the walls of the Yakub Kolas Central Scientific Library of the NAS of Belarus.

In the academic year 2023/2024, 150 master's degree students (including foreign citizens) will study at the University of the NAS of Belarus. Among the applicants this year, the following specialties were the most in demand: Biology, Study of Art, Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Sociology, Law. The master's degree students who have entered are from all over Belarus.
