On September 12, 2023, a delegation from Shandong Province of the People's Republic of China headed by Wang Yuyan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Head of the Organizational Department of the Communist Party of China of Shandong Province, conducted a visit. The delegation also included representatives of the leadership of the Office of Foreign Affairs of the People's Government of Shandong Province, the Department of Education, the Department of Science and Technology, the Academy of Sciences of Shandong Province. During the visit, the delegation held talks with the First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Sergei A. Chizhik, at which further steps were discussed to develop the Belarusian-Chinese scientific and technical cooperation between the NAS of Belarus and organizations of Shandong Province.

The delegation took part in a Conference organized by the NAS of Belarus jointly with the Academy of Sciences of Shandong Province on the exchange of experience in the field of science, technology and education. The Conference was opened by the First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Sergei A. Chizhik, Head of the Main Directorate of International Scientific and Technical Cooperation of the Apparatus of the NAS of Belarus Vladimir V. Podkopaev, Rector of the University of the NAS of Belarus Marat G. Zhilinsky, Chairman of the Scientific Council - Director of the Executive Directorate of the BRFFR Alexey E. Daineko, Director of the Institute of Physics named after B.I. Stepanov of the NAS of Belarus Sergei V. Gaponenko, Director of the Center of System Analysis and Strategic Studies of the NAS of Belarus Valery V. Goncharov. From the Chinese side, Wang Yuyan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Head of the Organizational Department of the Communist Party of China of Shandong Province, made a greeting, Pan Jun, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Shandong Province, Xing Shunfeng, Deputy Director of the Department of Education of Shandong Province, Yang Meihong, Vice President of the Academy of Sciences of Shandong Province, Jia Zhongching Director of the Institute of Laser Technologies of the Academy of Sciences of Shandong Province, made reports. S.A. Chizhik and Wang Yuyan also took part in the opening ceremony of the Belarusian Research Center of the Academy of Sciences of Shandong Province, within the framework of which cooperation is expected in such fields as automation, mechanical engineering, mathematics, materials science, biology, ecology, energy, chemistry and other natural sciences, humanities, as well as science and technology management. Laser physics and artificial intelligence are identified as the key areas for support.
