On September 20, 2023, the NAS of Belarus hosted the grand opening of the 20th International Scientific Conference of Young Scientists Youth in Science 2023. The conference is attended by young scientists, postgraduates, applicants, master’s students, students of Belarus working in such areas of science as: agriculture, biology, medicine, humanities, physico-technical science, physico-mathematical science, chemistry and Earth sciences, as well as young researchers from Russia, Armenia, Mongolia, Uzbekistan and other countries.

At the opening ceremony of the forum, Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov stressed that over the twenty years that the conference has been held, not dozens, but hundreds of young scientists have been trained. "The Academy uses all possible ways to popularize science. For example, we recently held a large-scale Science Festival, which was loved by young people. All this is done to attract young people to science. So that they could move up the scientific ladder faster, defend their candidate's and doctoral dissertations. After all, youth is the future. Future candidates and doctors of sciences, academicians are in this hall today. We just need to work more actively and purposefully."

Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of the NAS of Belarus Stanislav Yuretsky noted that the conference is the traditional largest scientific event for young scientists of our country and neighboring countries. This year it takes place within the walls of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for the 20th time. "It is symbolic that it is dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the NAS of Belarus. The conference is attended by about 400 young scientists with their projects and reports. Within three days, sections will be held in all major scientific areas. Our main task is for young scientists of both the Academy of Sciences and University science, as well as guests from abroad to meet at our site and get acquainted. It is very important for a scientist to make professional acquaintances, which will later grow into joint scientific projects," Stanislav Yuretsky said.

The 20th International Scientific Conference of Young Scientists Youth in Science 2023 is being held in the NAS of Belarus on September 20–22, 2023. The purpose of the conference is to stimulate scientific and technical, innovative potential and presentation of projects and scientific developments of young scientists, as well as exchange of experience and opinions on a wide range of scientific issues. The conference is organized by the Council of Young Scientists of the NAS of Belarus.
