On September 22, 2023, a round table Scientific Councils of IAAS was held, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the International Association of the Academies of Sciences. The Head of the IAAS, Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. The participants of the Round Table discussed ways to expand international cooperation of scientists from different IAAS member countries in key areas of development of modern science. Special attention was paid to the results of the activities of the IAAS scientific councils, as well as the activation of the work of scientific councils in solving urgent problems facing society. Reports were presented at the round table: Functional Materials for Micro- and Nanoelectronics; Promising Areas of Joint Research in Petrochemistry within the Framework of the IAAS; On the Activities of the Scientific Council of Chemical Societies of the IAAS; On the Activities of the Scientific Council for Non-Destructive Testing and Diagnostics; Development of Nuclear Technologies: Nuclear Power and Energy Security; The Concept of National Natural Heritage in the Context of Climate Change; On Improving the Quality of Dissertation Research in the Field of Education Sciences, etc.

Following the results of the 36th meeting of the Council of the International Association of the Academies of Sciences, it was decided to create two new scientific councils: on promising areas of nuclear energy and energy security and Scientific Council for the Development of Education. Thus, now there will be 28 scientific councils in IAAS in major scientific areas, which include leading scientists in the field of biology, virology, nanotechnology, geology, history, science studies of the CIS countries, China, etc.
