On September 29, 2023, the I.S. Lupinovich Belarus Agricultural Library of the NAS of Belarus, together with the Institute of History and the Scientific Council for Book Culture, Book Publishing and Libraries of the IAAS, held the 2nd International Scientific Conference Agriculture of Belarus through the Prism of Scientific Research, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the NAS of Belarus. The partners of the conference were the Belarusian State Archives of Films, Photographs and Sound Recordings and the Belarusian State Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Lifestyle. The scientific program of the conference included about 30 reports, which were presented at the plenary session and during the work of three sections.

The conference was attended by representatives of various branches of science, history, agriculture, pedagogics, and architecture: employees of academic research institutions, postgraduates, doctoral students, teaching staff of educational institutions, heads and specialists of libraries, archives, museums of Belarus and Russia. During the conference, some issues of the agrarian history of Belarus were considered, the research results on various aspects of the formation and development of agricultural knowledge in the past and the history of the introduction of scientific achievements into practice were presented, the importance of the personality’s role in the history of agricultural science and the development of agriculture was touched upon, attention was paid to the intellectual heritage and the current state of agricultural science, as well as the topic of conservation and disclosure of agricultural scientific information in library practice.

As part of the conference, literature exhibitions Belarusian Agrarian Publications of the Early 20th Century and Agriculture of Belarus through the Prism of Scientific Research prepared by the staff of the Belarusian Agricultural Library were demonstrated, as well as photo albums Photo Collection of the Pre-Revolutionary Period (N.S. Tagrin, V.I. Kaleda), Minsk Tractor Plant and Gomel Regional Agricultural Exhibition of 1951, compiled in different years by the staff of the Belarusian State Archives of Films, Photographs and Sound Recordings. The proposed materials aroused great interest among the participants of the conference.

The reports of the participants of the 2nd International Scientific Conference Agriculture of Belarus through the Prism of Scientific Research, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, are published in the collection of reports, which was prepared and published on the event’s day.
