On October 4, 2023, official celebrations were held on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the Polyclinic of the NAS of Belarus. First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Sergey Chizhik, Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Alexander Kilchevsky, Academic Secretary of the Department of Medical Sciences Vasily Bogdan, representatives of the Ministry of Health congratulated the team on the anniversary. The best employees were awarded diplomas and commendations.

The polyclinic of the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR was opened on October 1, 1968. Its own departmental healthcare institution was created in order to improve the medical care of employees, as well as to improve the professional examinations’ organization of employees working in harmful and unfavorable conditions of scientific experiments and research, participants of scientific expeditions. At the beginning of the polyclinic's activity, there were only 3 offices and 3 therapists in the main building of the Academy of Sciences for almost 30 research organizations of the Academy.

55 years have passed… Today, the polyclinic is a modern multidisciplinary healthcare institution, which is located on 3 floors of a separate building. 30 doctors of various specialties, 30 mid-level specialists, and slightly less than 30 non-medical workers. A paramedic health center is located in Akademgaradok.

The polyclinic’s capacity allows to receive up to 300 people per shift, the material and technical base has about 300 names medical devices for diagnostic and therapeutic and rehabilitation purposes. Any employee of the National Academy of Sciences can seek medical help.

The most important priority in the work of the polyclinic staff has always been, and remains the care of the patient. The medical institution’s staff takes an active part in many republican and city actions aimed at preserving and strengthening health; it works within the framework of the State Program People's Health and Demographic Security. According to the work results, the health care institution Polyclinic of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus was repeatedly listed on the Honor Board of the NAS of Belarus, took leading positions according to the results of the competition on labor protection among the organizations of the NAS of Belarus in the corresponding group. For several years now, the polyclinic has been part of the Department of Medical Sciences, which provides expanded opportunities and prospects for development and cooperation with many academic organizations.
