From November 14 to 16, 2023, the events of the International Science Festival of the Union State took place on the basis of the NAS of Belarus.

More than 100 young scientists of scientific organizations of Belarus and Russia took part in the events of the International Science Festival of the Union State in the NAS of Belarus. The participants of the Festival got acquainted with the latest developments of scientists of the Academy of Sciences at the permanent exhibition of the NAS of Belarus Achievements of National Science for Production, took part in the grand opening and Plenary session, visited the Museum of History of the NAS of Belarus and the Museum of Ancient Belarusian Culture of the NAS of Belarus. Young scientists got acquainted with the activities of a number of scientific organizations of the NAS of Belarus: The Institute of History, the Institute of Economics, the Institute of Philosophy, the Scientific and Practical Center of the NAS of Belarus on Bioresources, the Central Botanical Garden of the NAS of Belarus, the Institute of Physics named after B.I. Stepanov of the NAS of Belarus and the United Institute of Informatics Problems of the NAS of Belarus. A scientific and practical intensive and development of joint projects took place on the basis of the Central Scientific Library of the NAS of Belarus.

Within the framework of the International Science Festival of the Union State, a working session of the heads of Councils of Young Scientists was held. The meeting was attended by representatives of the NAS of Belarus, Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, RUDN University, SPbGASU, NArFU, Council of Young Scientists of the Nizhny Novgorod region of the Russian Federation, the Russia-Belarus project office. Key areas of cooperation were worked out and priorities for the near future and long-term projects were identified. On November 15, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Councils of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. The main purpose of the Agreement is to activate cooperation between young scientists of the NAS of Belarus and JINR in order to popularize science and achieve high scientific results. It is planned to hold joint schools, lectures, exchange of information and specialists of our organizations.

Within the framework of the International Science Festival of the Union State, it is also planned to hold strategic sessions on the sidelines of the 3rd Congress of Young Scientists on November 28–30, 2023 in Sochi. The main objectives of the International Science Festival of the Union State are to attract talented young people of Russia and the Republic of Belarus to the field of research and development, exchange experience and promote the involvement of young researchers in solving socially significant problems of the Union State development. Within the framework of the Festival, young researchers will get acquainted with the activities of advanced research institutes in Russia and Belarus, take part in joint practical research (projects), presentations, and also offer their models for the prospective development of scientific industries in the context of the Union State.

On the Belarusian side, the Festival is organized by the NAS of Belarus. The organizers from the Russian side are the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, the Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs in the Science and Education of the Council for Science and Education under the President of the Russian Federation and the Russia-Belarus international youth cooperation project office.
