International Scientific Conference on Fine Art in Preserving the Authenticity of Culture and in Society Consolidation at the Present Stage to be held

On December 14, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., the Kandrat Krapiva Institute of Art History, Ethnography and Folklore of the Centre for the Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature Researches of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1 Surganova str., building 2; room 302) will host a plenary session of the International Scientific Conference on Fine Art in Preserving the Authenticity of Culture and in Society Consolidation at the Present Stage.

The conference will be attended by researchers of fine, decorative, applied and folk art from Belarus, Armenia, Russia, Moldova. The Republic of Belarus will be represented at the conference by employees of the Kandrat Krapiva Institute of Art History, Ethnography and Folklore of the Centre for the Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature Researches of the NAS of Belarus, the Institute of History of the NAS of Belarus, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, the Scientific and Practical Center of the State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts, the Belarusian State Academy of Arts, the Belarusian State University, the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus, other cultural and educational institutions.

The task of preserving the authenticity of national culture, continuity and inseparability of traditions, reliance on fundamental spiritual values is becoming particularly relevant in the modern era, marked by crises, social and political cataclysms, the challenges of globalization and the aggressive offensive of mass culture with its desire to unify and simplify the spiritual needs of man. A fundamentally important role in preserving authenticity belongs to the fine art, which in their development are based on the best achievements, traditions and ideals of the national art school, creatively assimilated and reinterpreted in new conditions. The educational, humanistic, pedagogic and aesthetic potential of fine art is of great importance in preserving the spiritual and moral foundations of national culture, which are the key to consolidating society and strengthening national unity, sustainable development and harmonization of society based on the traditional value system.
