Winners of the Creative Works Republican Contest dedicated to the Year of Peace and Creation officially awarded at the Academy of Sciences

On December 19, 2023, the NAS of Belarus hosted an official ceremony awarding the winners of the Creative Works Republican Contest dedicated to the Year of Peace and Creation. The winners were 218 works. In total, over a thousand people took part in the contest. The authors of the best works received awards, diplomas and memorable prizes. The guests of the Academy of Sciences got acquainted with the latest developments of scientists, which are presented at the permanent exhibition Achievements of National Science for Production, visited the Museum of History of the NAS of Belarus.

"We tried not to offend anyone, so we will note all the participants. It is also important that people respond very actively to such contests. So, next year has been declared the Year of Quality and we will also hold a contest on this topic, because the issue is very important. I think that there will be no fewer participants and developments there," said Vladimir Gusakov, Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS. "The contest is organized by the Academy of Sciences, and it is really very prestigious for many young people who plan to connect their lives with science in the future. So, among the goals of the contest is to cultivate patriotism among young people and attract them to science."

The Creative Works Republican Contest dedicated to the Year of Peace and Creation, which was organized by the NAS of Belarus, was attended by contestants from different regions of Belarus. These are caring and creative people, amateurs and professionals, scientists, teachers, schoolchildren and students, as well as everyone who wants to. Creative search has united people of all ages, educational level, and life experience. The participants of the contest sent research results published in scientific and popular scientific publications, developments, as well as layouts, samples, scientific reports, presentations, journalistic articles, essays, musical and artistic works, works of prose and poetry.

The contest was held in 7 nominations: Physics, Mathematics and Informatics are the Basis for the Development of Technology; Physical and Technical innovations for the Benefit of Peaceful Creative Work; Chemistry and Environmental Management for the Creation and Sustainable Development of the State; Biological Diversity and Ecosystem Sustainability; Medical Science for Humans; Humanities for the Year of Peace and Creation; The Scientific Potential of Agricultural Science is the Basis of Creative Work on Earth.

In each nomination, the contest was held in three categories. The first is scientists of academic, university and branch science, teachers, creative people (over 35 years old as of January 1, 2023). The second group includes Masters’s project students, postgraduates, and young scientists (under 35 years of age as of January 1, 2023). The third is schoolchildren and students. Diplomas of I, II and III degrees were awarded in each of the categories.
