On December 22, 2023, the NAS of Belarus hosted the republican round table on the Historical Path of Soviet Belarus (to the 105th anniversary of the proclamation of the Socialist Soviet Republic of Byelorussia). Its purpose is to preserve the memory of the most important events in the history of the Belarusian statehood. The event was opened by Igor Lutsky, Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus. Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov elaborated on the issue of the development of Belarus in Soviet times and the foundation left by the Soviet people to modernity.

The round table was attended by well-known Belarusian and Russian scientists, political and government figures, representatives of public organizations, and students. The following issues were considered: the history of the BSSR in the works of domestic and foreign researchers; the political history of Soviet Belarus; the BSSR: the historical experience of social, economic and cultural transformations; the political and state elite of the BSSR: history and destinies; the evolution of relations between the republic and the center: BSSR – USSR; the evolution of the international legal subjectivity of the BSSR, etc. This event will contribute to strengthening research ties between academic and university science, popularization of historical knowledge. The materials of the round table will be published and will be used in the future in the implementation of state research programs.
