On January 5, Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Belarus Mustafa Ozcan at the NAS of Belarus. The event, which was held on the occasion of the completion of the Ambassador's diplomatic mission, was attended by academic secretaries of the Departments of the NAS of Belarus, members of the delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in the Republic of Belarus. Prospects for the development of scientific and technical cooperation were discussed at the meeting.

The Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus noted that today there are great tasks to expand cooperation between scientific organizations of Belarus and Turkey. "We could form new projects with Turkish scientists. We must not lose our accumulated potential and must move forward," Vladimir Gusakov stressed. It was noted at the meeting that a number of important concrete steps had been taken. So, on November 2 last year, the Belarusian-Turkish Research Center was inaugurated on the basis of the Institute of Philosophy. In addition to the research part, the center's work involves both educational and popularization functions.

In turn, Mustafa Ozcan noted that he will contribute to the development of scientific and technical cooperation between scientists of the two countries despite the completion of his diplomatic mission in the Republic of Belarus.
