Meeting of the coordinating council of the innovation and industrial cluster Micro-, Opto- and SHF-Electronics held in the NAS of Belarus

On February 22, 2024, a meeting of the coordinating council of the innovation and industrial cluster Micro-, Opto- and SHF-Electronics was held in the NAS of Belarus under the leadership of Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov.

It was attended by leading scientists and specialists of the country, heads and representatives of Integral Company, Planar Company, Minsk Research Institute of Radiomaterials, Optics, Optoelectronics, and Laser Technology State Research and Production Association, scientific organizations of the NAS of Belarus, BSU, BNTU and BSUIR. The meeting discussed promising areas of development in the Union State of Russia and Belarus in the field of microelectronics, the results of the work of the working groups of the innovative industrial cluster Micro-, Opto- and SHF-Electronics in 2022–2023 and plans for 2024.

It was noted that the organizations participating in the cluster have done a lot of work to ensure the activities of the cluster and scientific and technical cooperation between its participants. As a result of joint work in 2022–2023, work has been completed on the formation of a Concept for the development of R&D in the Republic of Belarus in the field of creating an export-oriented and import-substituting electronic component base for 2021–2025; a program for the development of the microelectronic industry of the Republic of Belarus for the period up to 2030 has been developed. In accordance with the instruction of Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov, an additional task was formed within the framework of the Subprogram Mastering New and High Technologies in the Production of the State Program Knowledge Intensive Technologies and Equipment to ensure the development of high-tech areas of the national economy. As part of this task, the organizations participating in the cluster are currently implementing a number of activities aimed at developing products of micro-, opto- and SHF electronics and radioelectronic devices at a new, world-appropriate or advanced scientific and technical level.

At the meeting, it was decided to intensify work on the preparation and coordination of a draft joint proposal for the scientific and technical program of the Union State in the field of microelectronics.

The innovative industrial cluster Micro-, Opto- and SHF-Electronics was created in 2017. It includes organizations of the NAS of Belarus, Integral Company, Planar Company, Minsk Research Institute of Radiomaterials, as well as BSU, BNTU and BSUIR. The innovation and industrial cluster is a coordinating structure that carries out its activities in the field of scientific research, experimental design, production of micro-, opto- and SHF-electronics products, as well as electronic and optoelectronic engineering and instrumentation. The cluster's activities make it possible to make coordinated decisions in accordance with the global market conditions in microelectronics and electronic engineering.
