Academic Secretary of the Department of Medical Sciences of the NAS Vasily Bogdan, Academic Secretary of the Department of Chemistry and Earth Sciences of the NAS Alexey Trukhanov and Deputy Director for Scientific and Innovative Work, Head of the Scientific and Practical Center ChemPharmSynthesis of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry Yelena Kalinichenko took part in the press conference.

According to Academic Secretary of the Department of Medical Sciences of the NAS of Belarus Vasily Bogdan, the Institute of Biophysics and Cell Engineering of the NAS of Belarus completed last year successfully clinical trials of nine new biomedical cell products for the treatment of patients with various diseases. The Institute is actively developing areas of cell therapy, it has created original technologies for the production of biomedical cell products, including those that have no analogues in the world.

Academic Secretary of the Department of Chemistry and Earth Sciences of the NAS of Belarus Alexey Trukhanov noted that the high scientific level of drug development in Belarus is emphasized by the expansion of the geography of scientific cooperation. "Joint research laboratories are being created with colleagues from China. We can give an example of the creation of a joint laboratory with a possible way to create a joint venture of colleagues from China and a self-supporting pilot production of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry," Alexey Trukhanov said.

Yelena Kalinichenko, Deputy Director for Scientific and Innovative Work of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the NAS of Belarus, Head of the Scientific and Practical Center ChemPharmSynthesis, said that ChemPharmSynthesis Center of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the NAS of Belarus occupies 20% of the Russian market for some drugs. "Along with leading Russian enterprises, we participate in tenders, purchases and deliveries. For some drugs, 20% of the Russian market belongs to our company," Yelena Kalinichenko said. She clarified that it concerns three drugs for the treatment of cancer. "Now we are registering four more drugs in Russia, and I think we will be able to occupy a good niche.
