Dear women! Dear colleagues!

On behalf of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and on my own behalf, I congratulate you on a bright spring holiday − Women's Day! Warmed by the warmth of your smiles, imbued with a mood of joy and renewal, it has become a real symbol of spring. At this time, nature awakens and blossoms, new plans and dreams are born.

Gentle maternal hands have been giving us affection since childhood, guiding us on the path of goodness. You – our mothers, wives, sisters – know how to forgive and accept your loved ones as they are. You know how to love and be near in difficult times, preserve the warmth of the family, patiently carry on your shoulders the care of your loved ones. Your wisdom – worldly and human – your will and endurance are worth learning. At all times, a woman has been remaining a symbol of life, a source of beauty and inspiration.

We men remember your invaluable contribution to the development of literally all spheres of life in our country. The Academy of Sciences is no exception, where almost half of the researchers – 49.7% – are women, which is 10.5% more than in the country as a whole. Women's participation in research enriches the scientific community with diversity and innovative ideas. Every year, women scientists are among the laureates of various prestigious awards and prizes in the scientific field. Their contribution to the development of domestic scientific thought is an integral part of progress and becomes an important catalyst for innovation and expanding the boundaries of knowledge.

In the Year of Quality, it becomes obvious that advanced scientific research must meet high standards and have practical benefits. The role of women scientists will help to solve this difficult task. A special female intuition and an unconventional type of thinking help women achieve great results on a difficult scientific path. And here it is important to recall the words of the great Marie Sklodowska-Curie, "You should never be afraid of what you are doing when it is right." It is the pursuit of success that will help you achieve the highest peaks.

Dear women! Thank you for your kindness and tenderness, hard work and patience. For the fact that it is you who often reveal to us the meaning of life, are reliable companions in all endeavors. Your love, patience and tremendous inner energy help us men achieve success. A woman is like spring: in meekness, beauty, emotionality, iridescent saturation of feelings.
