On March 12–17, 2024, a delegation of the NAS of Belarus headed by First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus S.A. Chizhik is visiting the Guangdong Academy of Sciences (GDAS). The delegation included Director of the Institute of Physical and Organic Chemistry of the NAS of Belarus A.V. Bildyukevich, Director of the Physico-Technical Institute of the NAS of Belarus V.G. Zalessky, representatives of the Institute of Physics named after B.I. Stepanov of the NAS of Belarus, Scientific and Practical Center of the NAS of Belarus for Materials Science and Chinese-Belarusian Innovation Center of Industrial Technologies.
On March 13, a meeting was held with Chairman of the party committee of the GDAS Liao Bing and President of the GDAS Chen Weimin. During the meeting, the parties discussed promising areas and mechanisms of scientific and technical cooperation in the field of materials science, biotechnology, nanomaterials, laser technologies and precision instrumentation. As a result of the meeting, a program of cooperation between the NAS of Belarus and the GDAS for 2024–2025 was signed, involving the implementation of 7 scientific projects with the organizations of the GDAS. On the same day, the delegation visited a number of leading scientific organizations of the GDAS: the Institute of Microbiology, the Institute of Intelligent Production, the Institute of Testing and Analysis, the Institute of Resource Use and Development of Rare Earth Elements and the Institute of New Materials.
On March 14, the delegation of the NAS of Belarus took part in the Conference on Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the GDAS and the NAS of Belarus, organized in Foshan. Before the event, First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus S.A. Chizhik met with Director of the Guangdong Science and Technology Department Gong Jianwen, Deputy Mayor of Foshan Wen Xi and Director of the Science and Technology Development Department of Foshan Liu Jianyao. During the meeting, the strategy of innovative development of Guangdong Province and the city of Foshan, as well as the participation of organizations of the NAS of Belarus in this process.
During the Conference, S.A. Chizhik made a plenary report, and members of the delegation made presentations on the activities of organizations, and an official ceremony of launching joint projects was also held.
In the afternoon, negotiations were held with the leadership of the GDAS Foshan Industrial Technology Research Institute, the environmental monitoring company Foshan Zhongke Yuntu Intelligent Co., Ltd., during which the possibility of implementing joint projects was discussed.
