On March 22, 2024, the delegation of the NAS of Belarus, led by First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Sergei Chizhik, honored the memory of the tragedy victims and laid flowers at the eternal flame in the Khatyn memorial complex. The ceremony was attended by members of the Presidium, academic secretaries of departments, heads of scientific organizations of the Academy of Sciences and structural divisions, representatives of the trade union, the Belarusian Women's Union, and young scientists.

On March 22, 1943, the Nazis and their accomplices shot and burned almost all the villagers, 149 people, 75 of whom were children. The Nazis sentenced innocent people from the village to death. Miraculously, one adult and five children survived. A memorial complex Khatyn was created on the site of the village in memory of the dead.
