On April 4, 2024, the opening of a new design center for innovative developments, created to strengthen the design and technological potential of the Akademtechnograd Scientific and Engineering Center, took place at the Physico-Technical Institute of the NAS of Belarus. The new center is designed to perform complex tasks of modeling, calculating and designing thermal, casting and deformation processes in order to further develop prototypes of innovative equipment. Within the framework of the event with the participation of Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov and heads of scientific organizations of the Department of Physical and Technical Sciences, the possibilities of Academtechnograd, competence centers of the Physico-Technical Institute of the NAS of Belarus, innovative technologies and equipment used both at the Institute and at industrial enterprises were presented. On the same day, an extended visiting meeting of the Bureau of the Department of Physical and Technical Sciences was held with the participation of Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov. The activities and participation of the Department's organizations in the work of Akademtechnograd were discussed.

As noted by the First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus, Academician Sergei Chizhik, the connection between science and production is extremely important and it is being implemented within the framework of the Akademtechnograd. "It brought together a number of institutes of physics and technology and enterprises. The center was created so that the tasks of the industry could be solved comprehensively. These tasks include the selection of materials, technologies, and manufacturing. What is very important, today we are also developing design, a computer center has been founded that is able to create digital counterparts of the necessary equipment with transfer to development and production," he said.

The Akademtechnograd Scientific and Engineering Center has been established and operates at the Physico-Technical Institute of the NAS of Belarus. Its purpose is to combine the human, technological and technical capabilities of academic and other organizations to solve large and urgent innovative problems in the field of materials science and mechanical engineering. Akademtechnograd Scientific and Engineering Center of the Physico-Technical Institute of the NAS of Belarus is a structural division of the institute, which activities are aimed at solving industrial problems, scientific and technical support of complex projects, providing engineering services for equipment and technologies for enterprises; expert, advisory and technological services; technology transfer in the field of mechanical engineering, materials science, instrumentation and others.
