Traveling press event at the Central Botanical Garden of the NAS of Belarus

On May 8, 2024, a traveling press event was held for representatives of the Belarusian media with a visit to the Central Botanical Garden of the NAS of Belarus.

The topic of the event is New Recreational Opportunities of the Botanical Garden for Residents and Guests of the Capital. Fyodor Privalov, Director of the Central Botanical Garden of the NAS of Belarus, Pavel Bely, Scientific Secretary, heads of structural divisions of the Central Botanical Garden of the NAS of Belarus, spoke about new areas of activity of the unique natural object, about the latest results of the scientists’ work. New opportunities for visitors were also presented this season. The journalists visited a number of new landmark facilities of the Central Botanical Garden of the NAS of Belarus. Among them is the Japanese Garden exposition, which is constantly being updated and will be supplemented with new elements and plants over time. Daffodils and ornamental apple trees are already blooming in the garden, you can visit the nursery of rare perennial plants and admire the collection of lilacs, of which there are about 270 varieties in the garden. Currently, coniferous, Japanese landscape and other expositions are actively functioning in the Central Botanical Garden of the NAS of Belarus, as well as new territories are being developed. A new trade pavilion was also presented to journalists, where you can buy products from the Botanical Garden.

The Central Botanical Garden of the NAS of Belarus is the country's largest center for the conservation of biodiversity of living plants, a leading scientific institution in the field of introduction, acclimatization, physiology, molecular biology, biotechnology, biochemistry and plant ecology. Research and practical work in the field of plant introduction has ensured the creation of a gene pool of decorative and economically useful introduced plants of more than 15 thousand names, which is the national treasure of the Republic of Belarus.
