On September 8–9, 2016 the NAS of Belarus Institute of History jointly with the Polish Institute in Minsk held the conference Sapiehas: Persons, Careers, Estates.
Sapiehas magnate clan left a significant mark in the history of Belarus during the 16th to 18th centuries and it is no less well-known than the famous clan of Radziwills. Therefore, the study of Sapiehas activities is an important aspect of historical studies, which involved many Belarusian and foreign researchers.
The Minsk Conference brought together more than 20 researchers from Belarus, Poland and Lithuania in order to present the results of their research and discuss issues relating to Sapiehas activities.
On September 10 the excursion in Pruzhany and Slonim was held, because the towns history is inseparably linked with the family.
