On 24 October 2017, a solemn opening of the Seventh Belarusian Space Congress took place at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. It was organized by the NAS of Belarus and the United Institute of Informatics Problems of the NAS of Belarus.
On 24-26 October, more than 120 reports of scientists and specialists from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and a number of other countries are to be presented.
The Congress aims at:
discussing new achievements in the space field, determinating priority areas for the development of space activities;
strengthening international cooperation in the field of space research and the peaceful uses of outer space;
expanding joint efforts of Belarusian and foreign business circles, companies, scientists and specialists, directed at implementation of space programs, analysis of the progress of their implementation and choice of promising directions for further research;
developing partnership between governmental and public organizations, enterprises and organizations of different forms of ownership in use of space assets and technologies for the benefit of various sectors of the economy.
During the Congress, scientific and technical products for space purposes are exhibited in the foyer of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The exhibition presents the results of the Union State scientific and technical programs on space issues, demonstrates technical and popular science literature, and children's drawings.
