NAS of Belarus and Pakistan Academy of Letters agree on cooperation

On February 12, 2016 under the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of scientific cooperation between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Pakistan Academy of Letters a meeting of leaders and staff of the Yanka Kupala Institute of Literature and the chairman of the Pakistan Academy of Letters Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qasim Bughio and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Republic of Belarus Masood Khan Raja was held at the Yanka Kupala Institute of Literature.

The sides exchanged information on the structure and activities of the Pakistan Academy of Letters and the Yanka Kupala Institute of Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, discussed plans for cooperation, exchange of scientific and fiction literature, the selection of works of classical and contemporary literature for translation into the languages of Pakistan and Belarus. The Ambassador of the Republic of Pakistan Masood Khan Raja said, “It is very important for international relations when scientists of two countries know each other, because the officials, the bureaucracy, the policy may change over time, but when there is a literary touch it remains at all times and creates the basis for a strong relationship and understanding.”

Director of the Yanka Kupala Institute of literature of NAS of Belarus Ivan V. Saverchenko assured the guests that all the proposals that had been made that day, would be deeply studied and considered.

The sides agreed on deeper and long-term cooperation.
