Director of Center for Identification Systems Victor Dravitsa is 60 years old

On April 4, 2016 Victor I. Dravitsa, the Director of Scientific and Engineering Republican Unitary Enterprise "The Inter-Branch Scientific and Practical Center for Identification Systems and E-Business Operations" is 60 years old.

Victor I. Dravitsa is actively involved in all developments of the Center for Identification Systems and has given spirit to them. Main directions of research and practical developments of the enterprise are focused on the creation and maintenance of information systems at the national level that are based on automatic identification technologies and electronic business transactions. These activities correspond to the priorities of scientific and technological development of the country approved by the President of the Republic of Belarus and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus.

Pursuant to Government resolutions the Center for Identification Systems holds a range of scientific and practical works on registration of business entities of the Republic of Belarus in the in the international commodity numbering system, including the support of the national identification (bar) codes and radiofrequency identification (RFID tags) depository which is a part of GS1 systems. An automated system for monitoring the legality of the light industry goods based on RFID technologies was established under the leadership of Victor Dravitsa. The implementation of this system makes it possible to reduce the volume of counterfeit products sold on the markets of the Republic of Belarus, to ensure control over the import of goods in order to monitor economic activity and improve the competitiveness of domestic producers and importers. Victor Dravitsa is the author of more than 50 scientific papers. In 2011-2014 he represented the Republic of Belarus as the Vice-Chairman of the Bureau of the United Nations Centre for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business (UN/CEFACT), also he is a member of the interdepartmental scientific and methodological Council for the Development of Scientific and Technical Information System, the Chairman of the Board of the Association for Automatic Identification GS1 Belarus, a member of the Consultative Board for cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Commission and Belarus-Kazakhstan-Russia business community.

Victor Dravitsa was awarded the Gratitude of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Andrei V. Kobyakov and the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir G. Gusakov for his great contribution to the development of information systems and radiofrequency identification technologies (RFID technologies) in the Republic of Belarus.
