1st European Biotechnological School to work in Minsk from May 30 to June 4

On May 30, 2016 at 2.00 p.m. grand opening of the 1st European Biotechnological School will be held at the NAS of Belarus (Minsk, 66 Independence Avenue). The School will work at the Academy of Sciences to June 4. Such an event is going to be held for the first time. Leading professors from European Union countries and the Republic of Belarus who work in the field of biotechnologies will lecture young scientists of the Academy of Sciences, representatives of the Agrarian Sciences Department, the Biological Sciences Department and the Department of Chemistry and Earth Sciences. English is the working language of the School.

Members of the European Biotechnology Thematic Network Association (EBTNA) headed by the President of the EBTNA Munis Dündar are invited as guest lecturers. Among lecturers there are Igor Volotovsky, Alexander Kilchevsky, Igor Mikhailopulo, Sergei Usanov, Vladimir Khripach, Oleg Baranov, Elena Spiridovich, Irma Mosse, Galina Novik, Alexander Budevich.

About 100 people (lecturers and students) are expected to participate in the work of the 1st European Biotechnological School. All the students have passed the preliminary selection. Within the framework of the School lectures of professors, scientific discussions, poster sessions, in which young scientists will present their researches, round table discussions, visits to specialized Institutes of the Academy are scheduled.

The agreement to hold the 1st European Biotechnological School in Minsk was reached in December 2015 during the 1st Eurasian Forum of Young Scientists, which was attended by the President of the EBTNA Munis Dündar.
