Before working the breakout session the Chairman of the NASB Presidium Vladimir Gusakov said that the Belarusian and Russian sides have "a lot of areas for cooperation. If we combine Russia's strong capability in scientific terms with Belarusian, we can do a lot. We need to join efforts in the development of artificial intelligence, in the field of biotechnology, nanotechnology, pharmaceutical products, and new materials”. Also the Chairman of the Presidium noted that cooperation should be developed not only at the management level of leading scientific institutions of the two countries, but also between employees.
More than 80 participants in the breakout session discussed the development of interregional cooperation between Belarus and Russia in the innovation sphere, cooperation on the Union State program, the state and prospects of cooperation between the Russian Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus etc. The program also provides for the holding of a round table "Scientific and technical cooperation between Russian and Belarusian scientists".
