On July 22, 2016 the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus signed a cooperation agreement in the field of science and research training between the Higher College of Technology (UAE) and the NAS of Belarus. Rector of the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) Abdullatif Al Shamsi arrived to the NAS of Belarus to sign the agreement.

The agreement provides for the exchange of scientific information, mutual visits of scientists and researchers, the organization of joint seminars, workshops and training programs to promote research of mutual interest, as well as the training of the academic staff at the level of master's and PhD programs, the provision of appropriate scholarships.

The signing of the Agreement is part of the efforts made by UAE to achieve by 2021 a sustainable and diverse in the structure of the knowledge economy, through investments in human capital development and training of students with modern skills.

The Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) is the largest higher education institution in the UAE.

Also the program of the visit of the rector of the Higher Colleges of Technology Abdullatif Al Shamsi includes a visit to a number of scientific and production organizations of the NAS of Belarus, the NASB permanent exhibition "Domestic scientific achievements for manufacturers", Museum of NASB history.
