Chairman of the NASB Presidium Vladimir G. Gusakov presented the highest award of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus — breastplate "Gold Medal of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for great contribution to the development of science" — to the Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Academician Pyotr Aleksandrovich Vityaz. Pyotr A. Vityaz awarded "For fruitful scientific and organizational activity in the field of new materials and technologies, the creation and development of the Belarusian space system for Earth remote sensing," according to the Decree of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus № 35 dated 20 July 2016.

Chairman of the NASB Presidium read out the greeting of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko in connection with the 80th anniversary of Academician Pyotr Aleksandrovich Vityaz. "Your life is a shining example of selfless service to science and the relentless search for research", - the message reads.

A great personal contribution of Pyotr A. Vityaz in the development of the Union State was praised by the Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Grigory Rapota, who personally presented the hero of the day greeting and gifts.

Congratulations to Pyotr A. Vityaz were also received from the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov, Chairman of the Council of the Republic National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich, the leadership of the dozens of ministries and departments of our country and other states.
