Young scientists of NAS of Belarus to take part in First World Cup “Composite Battle”

On October 29, 2016 the team of young scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus will take part in the World Cup in Composite Materials Composite Battle World Cup Kazan 2016 and the International Conference on Composite Technologies (Kazan, Russian Federation).

In 2015 the youth team of the NAS of Belarus “CompAS” passed the competitive selection of the Championship of Russia in Composites for young specialists of enterprises and university students called “Composite Battle”. The team includes representatives from the Joint Institute of Mechanical Engineering and the Scientific and Production Center of Multipurpose Unmanned Systems of the NAS of Belarus. The delegation is headed by the Deputy Director General for Research and Innovation Activities of the NASB Joint Institute of Mechanical Engineering, a competition expert Oleg Elovoy; a chief engineer of the SPC of Multipurpose Unmanned Systems Mikhail Luzan is a speaker at the Conference.

The championship program includes intellectual competitions called Brain Ring, technological competitions, namely manufacturing products from composites, engineering and calculation of the strength of the composite structure, and business cases which are competitions of ideas concearning commercialization of composite developments. In addition, the participants of the championship will represent their "homeworks" including a video about the team and a business case, and will participate in the competition of captains. Master classes of world-class specialists in composites, innovation competition for pupils and the excursion program are planned to be held for guests.

The First World Cup in Composite Materials called Composite Battle World Cup Kazan 2016 is held on October 26-29 and has federal and international stages. The competition involves young scientists and specialists from 15 countries, including Russia, Belarus, Germany, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Great Britain, France, the USA, Brazil, South Africa and others.
