Position of national minorities languages in Belarus discussing today at International Roundtable Discussion

On November 2, 2016 the Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus together with the Secretariat of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages of the Council of Europe holds the International Roundtable Discussion on "Languages of National Minorities in Belarus and the Council of Europe Standards".

The event continues the dialogue started at the first roundtable discussion on the subject of national minorities in Belarus which took place in June 2016. The dialogue is aimed at solving specific tasks set out in the framework of the program interaction between Belarus, the Council of Europe, and the European Union.

Analytical reviews of national experts on legal and law enforcement aspects, as well as on infrastructure of minorities languages in the Republic of Belarus will be presented and discussed in the context of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages at the Roundtable. Belarusian scientists, representatives of state authorities, heads of public associations of national minorities and heads of Belarusian educational institutions providing education in minorities languages will participate in the event.
