Joint Belarusian and Egyptian Seminar on scientific and technical cooperation to be held at NAS of Belarus

06.05.2017 On May 11, 2017 (Thursday), at 10:00 a.m., opening of the Joint Belarusian and Egyptian Seminar on scientific and technical cooperation will be held at the NAS of Belarus (66 praspiekt Niezaliežnasci, Minsk, room 216). To participate in the forum, a representative delegation of Egyptian scientific circles headed by Dr Mahmud Mohamed Sakr, President of the Egyptian Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, will come to Minsk. The delegation of scientists includes representatives of such major scientific centers as Zewail City of Science and Technology, the National Research Center, the Central Metallurgical Research Institute, the Agricultural Research Center, and the Ministry of Scientific Research.

During the event, it is planned to consider a wide range of perspective directions of cooperation between Belarus and Egypt in the field of science and technology, and mechanisms for their implementation. Members of the Egyptian delegation are supposed to visit the NASB Scientific and Practical Center for Animal Breeding, the NASB Scientific and Practical Center for Arable Farming, the State Scientific and Production Amalgamation of Powder Metallurgy of the NAS of Belarus, the Scientific and Practical Materials Research Centre of the NAS of Belarus, the NASB Physical-Engineering Institute, the NASB Institute of Chemistry of New Materials.

On 16 January 2017, during the visit of the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Agreement on Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Egyptian Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) was concluded. Vladimir Gusakov, Chairman of the NASB Presidium, and Dr Mahmud Mohamed Sakr, President of the Egyptian Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, signed the document. The agreement intends to intensify cooperation between scientific institutions in order to solve scientific issues of mutual interest.
