Public lecture on quantum technologies based on diamond to be held at NAS of Belarus

19.05.2017 On 24 May 2017, at 3:00 p.m., Prof. Fedor Jelezko will deliver a public lecture on quantum technologies based on diamond at the Big Conference Hall of the NASB Presidium (66 praspiekt Niezaliežnasci, Minsk).

Prof. F.Jelezko, a graduate of the BSU Physics Department, Director of the Institute of Quantum Optics of the Ulm University (Germany), is a world-class specialist in the field of quantum physics of solid state systems, in particular, of paramagnetic color centers in diamond. His scientific interests are at the junction of fundamental quantum physics and the development of new quantum technologies for processing information, metrology and sensorics. They are in fact aimed at creating a processor of a quantum computer working at room temperature and quantum memory, quantum-cryptographic systems for the safe transfer of information, nanoscale sensors, and visualization methods for biomedical research that allow the study of the structure and functions of individual biomolecules under physiological conditions.
