On October 8–12, V.F.Kuprevich Institute of Experimental Botany of NAS of Belarus to hold Fifth International Scientific Conference on Vegetation Monitoring and Assessment

On 8–12 October 2018, the State Scientific Institution «V.F.Kuprevich Institute of Experimental Botany of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus» together with the Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park will hold the Fifth International Scientific Conference «Vegetation Monitoring and Assessment».

The Conference aims at promoting integration and cooperation in vegetation monitoring, as well as developing further strategy for such an activity having both scientific and exceptional practical importance under anthropogenic impact and climate change.

The Conference areas:

  • the actual problems of vegetation monitoring, namely methodologies, systems, methods, including methods of data processing and interpretation; practical use of the results;
  • monitoring and assessment of forest, meadow, marsh and aquatic vegetation;
  • monitoring of resource-forming, protected and harmful invasive plant species;
  • monitoring of protective tree stands and vegetation under the influence of anthropogenic factors;
  • monitoring of natural ecosystems in specially protected natural areas.
  • 168 people registered to participate in the Conference. They represent 72 departments, research institutions, universities, nature reserves and national parks of Abkhazia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Republika Srpska, the United States of America (Minnesota), Poland, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, and Sweden.
