A press conference on scientific support of pharmaceutical industry in Belarus and prospective developments of domestic competitive pharmaceutical products was held at the National Press Center of the Republic of Belarus. The event was dedicated to the Day of Pharmaceutical and Microbiological Industry Workers. The NAS of Belarus was represented by Elena N. Kalinichenko, Deputy Director for Science and Innovation of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Head of the Scientific Production Center “ChemPharmSynthesis”, and Elena V. Bolotnik, Deputy Director for Science and Innovation of the Institute of Microbiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

Elena N. Kalinichenko told about the contribution of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus to the development of the pharmaceutical industry in our country. According to her, the Academy has established itself as an organization focused on obtaining high-tech pharmaceutical products for the treatment of cancer, cardiovascular diseases and antiviral drugs. The NAS of Belarus is developing this area emphasizing the implementation of the full cycle of drug production from its development to the finished product.
