Laureates of 100 Talents of National Academy of Sciences of Belarus competition defined

The Bureau of the Presidium approved the list of laureates of the annual competition “100 Talents of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.” This year, the list includes 20 young scientists. All of them will be included to the data bank “100 Talents of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus” (a corresponding certificate being issued) and to the reserve of management personnel of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. In addition, they receive a one-time grant to participate in an international scientific event for one calendar year from the moment the results of the competition have been announced. If their annual report on research, teaching and innovation activities is satisfactory, the laureates of the competition will be paid an annual premium of up to 50 basic values during all the period they are included into the data bank “100 Talents of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.”

The competition “100 Talents of National Academy of Sciences of Belarus“ is held for the first time in 2018. It was established in April 2018. It primarily aims at attracting and retaining talented young people in science, involving them in technology and innovation activities, establishing youth research groups, rejuvenating the staff of scientific organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and ensuring continuity between scientists of different generations. The total number of young scientists included in the data bank "100 talents of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus" cannot exceed 100 people, and the annual number of winners is no more than 20 people.

Young scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, who have received a degree of Candidate of Science under the age of 30 years or a degree of Doctor of Science under the age of 40 years, may participate in the competition.

According to the Regulations, the participants of the competition should meet the following requirements:
• research results of high fundamental and (or) practical significance published in the last 3 years in the form of a monograph and (or) a series of articles (at least 6 publications in scientific, scientific/theoretical, scientific and practical, scientific information, scientific and technical, scientific and methodological journals included in the list determined by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus in a relevant scientific area);
• experience in managing research projects (BRFFR grants, tasks of state research / research and technical programs, etc.).
