Science has suffered a great loss. An outstanding physicist, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a foreign member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Nobel Prize winner Zhores Alferov passed away at the age of 89. The Presidium of the NAS of Belarus expresses its deepest condolences to family and friends and mourns with the entire scientific community.
