From October 14 to 17, 2019, the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus holds the 16th International Scientific Conference “Youth in Science - 2.0’19”. The conference is not only one of the largest youth scientific events in Belarus, but also a prestigious venue for the presentation of projects of talented youth from the CIS countries, as well as from near and far abroad.
The solemn opening of the forum took place on October 14, 2019.
The forum plans to present the largest international and interdisciplinary projects, scientific developments that are implemented with the participation of young scientists. The conference will bring together about 500 young researchers. These are scientists of the NAS of Belarus; representatives of universities, colleges, schoolchildren of our country; guests from Russia, Montenegro, Kazakhstan, Poland, Latvia, Tajikistan, Armenia, and Georgia; leaders of the Councils of Young Scientists of the Academies of Sciences which are the IAAS (International Association of Academies of Sciences) members.
On the first day of the conference (October 14), an exhibition of the developments of young scientists "Young Academy" was working in the foyer of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. It presented the latest developments of young scientists in the most advanced areas of science. A presentation of scientific startup projects, in which both native and foreign representatives of academic and university science took part, and robot tournament were held. The forum program provides for bright reports of successful young scientists. There will be many section reports on the main activities of the NAS of Belarus (Agricultural Sciences; Biological Sciences; Humanities; Medical Sciences; Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science; Physical and Technical Sciences; Chemistry and Earth Sciences).
On October 15, the Belarusian-Russian symposium "Horizons of Science" will be held. It is organized by the Academies of Sciences of the two countries, as well as the Belarusian Foundation for Basic Research and the Russian Foundation for Basic Research. This will be a forum that will bring together young representatives of many Belarusian and Russian scientific organizations in order to enhance the interstate cooperation.
On October 16, an interdisciplinary poster session “100 Talents of the NAS of Belarus” will begin. It will present the developments and successes that the winners of the contest “100 Talents of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus” have achieved in this high status. The contest was held for the first time last year. Each of its winners is a unique researcher, a serious scientist under the age of 35 years old, experienced in international cooperation.
On the same day, there will be a contest of reports in English "My First Report in English", and different master classes.
The results of the 16th International Scientific Conference "Youth in Science - 2.0’19" will be announced on October 17.
