The Department of Medical Sciences was created in 1995. It develops and coordinates the scientific investigations on the enlightenment of the mechanisms of physiological functions self-regulation, the development of theoretical basis for management of compensatory-recombinatory processes, finding-out the peculiarities of modern ecosystems factors and way of life action on physiological status and health of the human, the development of medical-biological problems connected with consequences of the Chernobyl catastrophe.
The Department of Medical Sciences unites 3 scientific institutes, whose personnel includes about 280 researchers, technicians and attendants. There are 157 researchers, 14 Doctors of Sciences (Prof.) and about 60 Candidates of Sciences (Ph.D.) among them.
