Summary: Migration process during the last two decades of the 20th century is shown on the basis of official statistics, documents from the Archive of the Committee of Religions and Nations under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus, information from mass media. The last decade the quantity of people from the Caucasus coming to our republic is reducing. The state, in turn, must regulate by law the entry and living of refugees and people without citizenship on the territory of Belarus.

Summary: The actual, largely unsolved problems of frictional materials science are set forth in the present work. The results of fundamental investigations and applied developments of ecologically friendly frictional materials with a polymer matrix are cited and the analysis is presented of the market of frictional materials and their components in Belarus. Ecological aspects of their manufacture and performance are touched upon.
