Wear rate equation taking into account the interaction of wear particles with the surface. pp. 579--584
Summary: The tribojoint wear rate equation is found taking into account the interaction of wear particles with the surface. On the basis of the interaction model of the neutral and light-inequilibrium an equation, relating king the wear rate with the roughness, concentration and the contaminated particles dimension, the contour pressure and the material hardness was obtained. It is shown that the wear rate decreases with the growth of the dislocations density in the model of the little dislocations.

Classification of wear debris on texture using matrices of co-occurrence. pp. 606--615
Summary: The method and the results of texture classification of three types of metallic wear debris are presented. Three-dimensional images of laminar, fatigue chunk and severe sliding wear particles obtained from laser scanning confocal microscopy have been used as initial data. The textures of these three types of wear debris, are then, characterized by a number of statistics extracted from a special case of co-occurrence matrix. The matrix represents the frequencies of co-occurrence of the azimuth orientation between gradients of a pair surface points and the distance between them. The study has shown that the surface textures of wear debris characterized by the extracted parameters occupy linear separable domains in the feature space, and therefore, can be distinguished. The results presented in the paper have demonstrated that the proposed approach coincides well with the texture distinction of an expert's visual perception, and it is sufficient to reflect the semantic interpretation of the distinction.

Effect of graphite on tribotechnical properties of sintered Al--Ti system alloys. pp. 628--632
Summary: The effect of graphite on tribotechnical properties of sintered aluminium alloys containing a great amount of an intermetallic compound has been studied under conditions of dry friction as well as friction with lubricant. It was shown that graphite influences weakly on the friction coefficient, but decreases markedly the ability of the alloys to sustain load in particular during low-speed sliding.

Abrasive wear resistance of carbon and low-alloy tool steels and its evaluation by the nondestructive methods. pp. 633--641
Summary: The effect of carbon content (to 1.2 wt. %) on the abrasive wear resistance of carbone steels was studied. It was found that among the used alloy elements (Mo, V, Mn, Si, Cr -- from 1 to 2 %) only vanadium substantially increases the wear resistance of the high-carbon martensite formed in the steels upon volume and laser quenchings. The mentioned elements did not eliminate the abrupt decrease in the abrasive resistance of tool steels after low-temperature tempering but Si, V and Mo can substantially increase the wear resistance of the steels tempered at temperatures above 250°C. It was shown the possibility to evaluate the abrasive wear resistance of low-alloy tool steels by the coercimetric and eddy-current methods.

Friction performance of MDO coatings produced byplasma-assisted deposition. pp. 642--646
Summary: Capabilities of friction enhancement of MDO coatings on Al alloys by plasma-assisted deposition of thin carbon-based surface layers are considered. Friction coefficients are determined for the coatings, at pin-on-disc sliding against tungsten carbide. The plasma-assisted deposition is found to decrease friction coefficient from 0.62 till 0.18 and stabilize friction behaviour of the pair due to decrease of adhesion between the bodies.

Specificity of thermofriction inflence in polymers mixtures. pp. 650--658
Summary: The structure and properties of materials based on anilinephenolformaldehyde oligomere-polyheteroarylene blends were studied by thermomechanical methobs, dynamic mechanical tests, dynamic thermogravimetry, and some other techniques. Thermal processing of the mixtures leads to the formation of chemical bonds between components of polymeric system. In the process of thermofriction influence tribochemical processes lead to lowering and thermal stabilization of friction coefficient of formed cross-linked polymer. The materials are characterized by high wear resistance.

An experimental study on friction and wear characteristics afair-curable MoS2 films with polymeric binder. pp. 659--664
Summary: The effect of binder on the tribological behavior was experimentally evaluated for air-curable MoS2 bounded films. The binders were basically alkyd and acryl-based resins were modified by nitrocellulose. Effect of the binder ratio to solid lubricant and the molecular weight of binder were also investigated when testing the tribological behavior. For the test, LFW-1 and Falex tester were used to measure mainly the endurance life and load-carrying capacity of films. Results showed that methacrylic resin has the better performance than those of other resins, and the properties of lubricants both of alkyd and acrylic resins could be improved by modification with nitro-cellulose. It was also shown that the optimum ratio of nitro-cellulose was dependent on the type of binder and test machine.
