MATERIALS ENGINEERING
Pleskachevsky Yu. M., Shilko S. V.
Auxetics: models and applications. pp. 58--68
Summary: Structural-functional analysis of auxetics having negative Poisson's ratio is given and its place in material classification proposed by authors previously has been shown. This consideration is useful as an example of prescribed deformational behavior realization by means of material structural elements configuration changing.
Ilyuschenko A. Ph.
The features and regularities of formation of heat resistant plasma coatings. pp. 69--77
Summary: Constructions of the plasma thermal barrier coatings consisting of a heat resistant sub layer on the basis of an alloy of the system MeCrAlY and a ceramic layer on the basis of ZrO2 are considered. Peculiarities of alloying of powders of heat resistant alloys for protection of turbine blades are investigated. Laws of influence of the basic alloying elements on stability of multi component heat resistant alloys in conditions of long high-temperature influence are determined.

The effect of thermal cycling on structure and properties of eutectic composites. pp. 78--82
Summary: The investigation is made of the changes of eutectic composites which occur during their thermal cycling. The thermal cycling conditions established are the most favorable from the viewpoint of ensuring the high heat resistance of directionally crystallized eutectics based on the nickel--chromium--aluminum system.
Gordienko A. I., Isakov S. A., Krylov-Olefirenko V. V.
The obtaining and properties of three-component brass (Cu-Zn-Ni system) coating of metallic cord. pp. 83--92
Summary: The paper discusses the advantages which a three-component coating of the Cu--Zn--Ni system has over a two-component Cu--Zn coating on their using for production of cord. The method and technology developed for obtaining a three-component coating during a layer-by-layer deposition of components comprises deposition of a nickel contained in a copper-nickel alloy. It is established in what way the components are distributed after a standard thermodiffusive annealing. The investigation is made of the relationship existing between phase and chemical coating compositions. The adhesion and corrosion resistant properties of experimental coatings applied to both test and various-construction cord samples are determined.

RELIABILITY AND LONGEVITY OF MACHINES
Blagodarny V. M., Pavlenko S.
The stroke in worm gearing. pp. 93--102
Summary: The contribution deals with a model of worm gearing grip consisting of two stages. First stage -- stroke of the worm into the tooth of worm gear, second stage -- mutual sliding of working surfaces of worm treads and gear teeth. Main focus is given to the grip -- the stroke. The stroke is described as stroke of two solid bodies (worm and gear) treads and teeth being separated by an elastic element. Dynamic characteristic dependencies are described for: forces, velocities, acceleration of dynamic system bodies, stroke time. The elastic element can be made by polymer covering on gear teeth and worm threads, or by special lubricant containing certain amount of fluorine-plastic particles.

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY
Klubovich V. V., Stepanenko A. V., Kulak M. M.
The new materials obtaining by the SHS method with ultrasonic vibrations applied. pp. 103--108
Summary: The influence of ultrasound vibrations (UV) on the process of the self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) of titanium silicides is investigated. The UV effect on combustion rate and combustion temperature is studied. The conclusion that in SHS-processes UV may be applied for the control of the combustion process and the final product structure formation is done.

The numeric solution of Poisson equation by Monte Carlo simulation of ultra short channel MOSFET. pp. 109--114
Summary: The scheme for Poisson equation solution in ultra short channel MOS-transistors is proposed. With its aid the electron transport in such transistors is simulated.

ENGINEERING CYBERNETICS
Alekseev G. I., Kamovich A. A., Milman V. A., Novikov N. R., Reshetnik S. V.
The combined input of large-scale images into computer. pp. 115--119
Summary: An input of large-scale images into computer by a combined device is considered. The device consists of a large-scale digitizing tablet and a handheld scanner. The algorithm of forming of large-scale images from fragments is described. The combined input is effective, universal and inexpensive.
Papkou A. P., Belogortcev E. V.
The extraction of objects in picture with recursive median filtering. pp. 120--121
Summary: Recursive median method is proposed to extract objects in picture with pulse noise. Efficiency modelling results are given for recursive and usual medians.

MECHANICS
Migoun N. P., Stavropoulou E., Valovich I. V.
The choice of the developer type at the estimation of pene-trants sensitivity. pp. 122--125
Summary: The influence of the developer' phase state upon the visibility of defect's indications at liquid penetrant testing is investigated. It is established that the application of a wet developer is substantially more effective comparing with the case of dry, powder developer application. Possible difference between quantitative results of type testing for penetrants obtained in these two cases is established.

THERMAL PHYSICS, HEAT ENGINEERING, HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER
Dragun V. L. Stetyukevich N. I., Yatsuk V. N.
The research of thermal-physical and optical properties of mountain rocks. pp. 126--128
Summary: The measurement data of effective thermal conductivity, specific heat and reflectivity for the mezo-cainozoic clay samples from the mine under construction were represented. Comparison of measurement data for the different samples was carried out. The results of optical measurements were analyzed.
