Evolution of social institutions in the Japanese society. pp. 12--18
Summary: Japanese experience of modernizing the country is considered on the basis of transformation changes in social institutions of the Japanese society. Analyzed are historic conditions, prerequisites of modernization and specificity of reforms in various epochs, beginning with Meiji restoration. The evolutionary development is shown to have got an organic character, and transformation was carried out on the basis of the country's national traditions and existing social relations and social institutions.
Coevolutionary basis and major conceptual modifications of modern ontology. pp. 19--22
Summary: The article contains the analysis of classical, traditional, static ontology, that contradicts modern knowledge and theories of special disciplines. You can also find explanations of the opposite philosophical-theoretical positions of evolutional ontology, criticizing and rejecting such approach. According to the traditional conception, a human being was singled out from Nature and was perceived as a perfection belonging qualitatively not to the Nature level, but to the world of culture.
Evolutional ontology perceives human being on the basis of his biological origin and social cultural evolution. Duality of understanding of human essence results in 2 classical different systems, natural and cultural and corresponding evolutional processes, creating conflict situations. In the article potential advantages of evolutional ontology by S. Shmise are adduced and an attempt is made to find the conditions of their possible co-evolution and compatibility.

Summary: The reasons for entering such clause as a restriction of freedom into criminal code are investigated. The characteristic of this penalty in the system of punishments is presented.

Summary: Based on definition of legal category "source of law" in general theories of state and law, the problems of formulating of agrarian law sources are analyzed. Thesis about inexactitude of using such notions as "source of law" and "form of law" as identical and need to refute such usage are proven in the article.

Summary: On the basis of the analysis of cycle scientific and technical development the time interval of forecasting scientific and technical progress is estimated. The conclusion on direct correlation between reduction of machine generation lifetime cycle and progress in scientific and technological development is made.

Correlation of social class structure and hierarchy. pp. 40--46
Summary: A diversity of socio-class institutions is discussed, categories of social class, class-strata, class-estate, syncretic class, distraho- class, socio- class formation have been to define specific phases of social class development. Categories of socio-class group, marginal socio-class group and caste socio-class group reflect internal class differentiation of persons. The correlation of socio-class organization and structure of society has been shown.

Summary: The author discusses the essence of a policy of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania with regard to Poland from July 1572 to June 1576 and position of the Grand Duchy towards forming a system of monarch elections in the Commonwealth. The main aims of the political elite of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania were to revise disadvantageous conditions of the Lublin union of 1569 and protect equal rights in monarch elections.

Burial constructions of XII--XIII centuries in Belarusian stone temples. pp. 64--69
Summary: The article describes attention burial constructions in stone temples and surrounding cemeteries. The complexes were built in the churches during XII -- XIII centuries in Polotsk, Turow, Grodno, Novogrudok and Minsk. On the territory of eastern Slavs the underground vaults -- "crypts" were discovered only in Polotsk. The author correlates about funeral rite and the social status of the dead.

Summary: The article studies traditional masking and masks in rituals of Belarussians during Kupalle festivals Kupalle in XIX -- early XX centuries. Semantics and functions, role and place of masking on Kupalle, processes of shaping the personages of Kupalle are described. The article is also devoted to examination of the personages of Kupalle conditioned by social and historical factors. Trends of their development are also analyzed.

Summary: The process of foundation and development of medical associations in Belarus in the second half of the XIX-th century -- 1920-ies is traced. The author looks at their composition, structure, functions of managing bodies and officials, scientific, educational and practical activities, their role in promoting professionalism and culture, in eradication of ignorance, superstitions and prejudice.

Studies on art monuments of the second half of XIX century: problems of terminology. pp. 83--91
Summary: The article deals with the terminological problems appearing in art studies of the second half of the XIX century. The author analyzes literature concerning artistic and architectural monuments of the epoch in Belarus and shows the origins and development of terms, coined in 1980s when National Academy of Sciences edited the "Collection of Monuments of History and Culture in Belarus" and later perfected in the works of A. Pyatrosava and A. Kulagin.
It is shown that this terminology is based on the stylistic signs of the objects, and this contradicts the main principle of arts and architecture of the second half of the XIX century -- stylistic pluralism. The author proposes to make changes in the system of terms.

Post-modern character in Belarusian literature.
Summary: The conception of a person in the literature of Belarusian postmodernism is examined using the prose written by I. Bobkow, I. Sidoruk, I. Sin. The attention is paid to the figure of a fragmentary person, or, by the definition of J. Lakan, divid. The author draws the conclusion that Belarusian writers are focused on the problems of national self-identification.

Summary: The basic tendencies of research on the theme "Taras Shawchenka and Belarus" in the works of Belarusian literary critics are considered. Necessity of further advanced methods of comparison, new interpretation of aesthetic and social-cultural aspects of typology is stressed.

Verbs with prefix pre/pera in modern Slavic languages.
Summary: Bulgarian and Belarusian verbs formed with genetically identical prefixes pre-/pera- are examined in the article. Author analyzes the derivative semantics of this formant in the comparable languages and tries to determine the character of system relations between different meanings of the prefix. Despite common derivative semantics the Bulgarian and the Belarusian prefixes show essential differences in functioning practice.
