On September 20–23, 2022 on the basis of the State Scientific Institution «V.F. Kuprevich Institute of Experimental Botany of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus» will be held the II International Scientific and Practical Conference «Botanical Collections of Belarus: Preservation, Use and Prospects for the Development of Herbariums».

The conference will address the issues related to the functioning of the botanical collections, their replenishment, digitalization, copyrights, the study of the state of biodiversity of the plant world using the collection materials, prospects for their further development, determining the role of herbarium data in modern conditions, determining the significance of the botanical collections in the knowledge of the biological diversity. Discussion of various problems of botanical collections at the next International Conference will allow sharing the new knowledge and research experience, obtaining additional information about achievements and ways in this area of research, new approaches and methods for solving the urgent problems.

The main directions of the conference:
- herbarium collections in modern botany: new opportunities.
- functioning of the herbarium collections: new and promising areas of work, copyrights.
- collections of the plant and fungal cultures, their genetic potential.
- collections of botanical gardens as a source of material for genetic research.
- botanical collections as a means of understanding and using biological diversity; databases, networking, use of herbarium for publication.

165 people, representing 41 research institutions, higher educational institutions of Belarus, Azerbaijan, Russia, Turkey and Uzbekistan, registered to participate in the seminar.
