On September 26, 2023, the Yanka Kupala Institute of Literary Studies of the Center for the Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature Researches of the NAS of Belarus hosted the presentation of the first volume of the collection of works by the classic of Belarusian literature Kuzma Chorny. The collection of works is planned to be published in 12 volumes. The event was attended by scientists, writers, cultural figures, representatives of the public.

The participants were addressed by Alexander Lokotko, Director of the Center for the Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature Researches of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Ivan Saverchenko, Director of the Yanka Kupala Institute of Literary Studies of the Center for the Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature Researches of the NAS of Belarus, Igor Kopylov, Director of the Yakub Kolas Institute of Linguistics of the Center for the Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature Researches of the NAS of Belarus, and others.

"Kuzma Chorny left a big mark in Belarusian literature and was known for his deep connection with the daily life of the people, love for his homeland and roots, excellent command of his native language and understanding of the human soul. Kuzma Chorny became one of the creators of the national socio-psychological and intellectual-philosophical prose," said Alexander Lokotko, director of the Center for the Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature Researches of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

As it was emphasized at the presentation, the first volume of the collection of Kuzma Chorny's works of the Belarusian Science Publishing House includes the early works of the classic of 1921–1923, which are printed in accordance with the last creative will of the author. The first volume includes historical and literary, textual and other scientific commentaries. During the preparation of the publication, new documents and archival materials were used, which are stored in the National Library of Belarus, the Center for the Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature Researches of the NAS of Belarus, the Belarusian State Archives-Museum of Literature and Art, as well as in the private archive of the writer's heirs.

Within the framework of the event, a book exhibition Kuzma Chorny: about a Person, about Belarusian Things, about the Main Thing was held, which systematically demonstrated the previous editions of the heritage of the classic of Belarusian literature, as well as research devoted to him.
