The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus conducts its activities, guided by the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, the laws of the Republic of Belarus, other legislative acts of the Republic of Belarus, and the Charter of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, approved by Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus of February 3, 2003 No. 56 "On some issues of the National Academy Sciences of Belarus ", and other legislative acts of the Republic of Belarus. These regulatory legal acts define the legal basis and guarantees of the activies of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the basic principles of its interaction with the government authorities, other actors and participants in scientific, scientific, technical and innovative activity.
In addition to the statutory activities of the Academy of Sciences, its tasks, functions, competence and powers are determined by more than 100 directives, decrees and edicts of the President of the Republic of Belarus, codes and laws of the Republic of Belarus regulating various aspects of the life of the Belarusian state.
