Honorary and foreign members

The honorary members of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus are elected from citizens of the Republic of Belarus who have made a great contribution to the development of the national economy, culture, education and state-building of the Republic of Belarus. The foreign members of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus are foreign scientists who have made a major contribution to the development of world science. Honorary and foreign members of the NAS of Belarus are members of one of the departments of the Academy of Sciences in accordance with the specialty for which they are elected.

Honorary and foreign members of the NAS of Belarus have the right to participate in general academic, scientific and organizational events, participate in the General Meeting of the Academy of Sciences and the general meetings of its departments with the right of a consultative vote, receive information on the activities of the Academy of Sciences in the order established by the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus, on the basis of a personal application, voluntarily resign as an honorary or foreign member of the Academy of Sciences and withdraw from it.
