The guests got acquainted with the exposition of the permanent exhibition of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus “Achievements of domestic science for production”. Negotiations were held on the development of scientific and technical cooperation. During the meeting, a roadmap for cooperation for cooperation for the period up to 2030 was signed. The cooperation roadmap includes more than 40 events, including a nuclear energy, genetic research, nuclear medicine, the development of unmanned aerial vehicles, and other areas.
As Vladimir Gusakov emphasized, “Cooperation with the Kurchatov Institute is of great interest to us. It is not only nuclear research, nuclear energy. The Institute deals with a number of problems (materials scince, genomic technologies, medicine, genetics in agriculture) and it is constantly expanding its research topics. “Today we signed a roadmap that opens up broder horizons for major joint projects.” Mikhail Kovalchuk drew attention to the fact that now very projects are being developed related to and you research infrastructure based on powerful installations - megascience. “Such a program has now been launched in Russia, the infrastructure will have to become the most perfect in the world within 5-7 years. In this regard, it is very important, taking into account the potential of Belarus, to recreate a single research space within the Union State. Signed a roadmap with the head of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, “he said. According to him, it was proposed to open a branch of the Kurchatov Institute on the basis of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus to enhance integration and cooperation. Also among the proposals is the opening of a branch of the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute in Belarus. “In addition, we agreed that a draft intergovernmental agreement on Belarus’s joining the international center based on their PIK reactor in Gatchina near St. Petersburg will be prepared”, added the head of the Kurchatov Institute Research Center.
