On the eve of Victory Day, on May 4, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., the XVI International Youth Scientific and Practical Conference The Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 in The Historical Memory of The People will be held at the Gymnasium No. 174 of Minsk (15/2 Kasmanawtaw Str.).

The program includes a plenary session and the defense of the research papers of 182 participants who have passed the preliminary stage and reached the final part of the conference. In total, 382 works of students from educational institutions of Belarus and Russia were submitted for participation in the conference.

According to the organizers, including the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, such events help schoolchildren expand and deepen knowledge about the events of the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War; they help motivate students to engage in research and local history activities, contribute to the formation of an idea of the peace as the most important universal value, preserve the historical memory of the events of the Great Patriotic War.
